I was scrolling through Facebook yesterday and a post came up from Life Is Good (yes, of course I follow them).  The thirteenth of September is Positive Thinking Day and Life Is Good is getting started early, inviting us to post #OnePositiveThought.  When I saw their post, I was feeling discouraged about my current lack of reach. Having set my sights on spreading positivity to as many people as possible, I’m impatient to get on with the spreading.

Even while feeling discouraged, I knew I absolutely had to post a positive thought.  What would it be?  I wanted it to be authentic.  It wouldn’t have felt right to say something positive I wasn’t feeling, so I asked myself what positive thought could I think that would encourage me (and someone else in a similar situation)?  This was what came to me: We get to point ourselves toward where we want to be in the future.

It doesn’t matter where you are right now.  It doesn’t matter what happened in the past.  Regardless of those things, you have the power to decide where you want to be headed and you have the ability to aim yourself in that direction.  Some people will probably have a better launching pad than you.  Some people will have more connections than you.  Remember this, however:  You can’t get somewhere specific if you don’t take action in that direction.

Stop where you are and ask yourself where you want to be headed.  Are you moving in the right direction?  Are you even facing in the right direction? If not, take a moment to orient yourself toward whatever lights you up.

I strongly believe the Universe nudges us when we need a nudge.  There I was, firmly entrenched in the gloom of not being “there” yet.  Universal nudge incoming.  Wham! I needed #OnePositiveThought and I was sent the perfect thought to get me taking action in the direction I want to go.  Face first into my sunny focus.

Feeling sunny?  Leave a comment and share with your friends.  Brightest blessings!
